Understanding Fiscal Responsibility Workshop

From our friends at the Massachusetts Council on Economic Education:

Understanding Fiscal Responsibility Workshop

Teach students how to think critically about public policy using these Understanding Fiscal Responsibility lessons focusing on government institutions, programs, the Federal Reserve, Social Security, and events such as the Panic of 1893. Students become informed citizens as they consider the tradeoffs involved in setting public policy. They learn to articulate their own views by evaluating primary and secondary sources, engaging in group activities and discussions, and writing brief essays.

Participants will leave the workshop:

  • Familiar with the UFR curriculum
  • Understanding the importance of the essential dilemma to the curriculum, and knowing how to use it in instruction
  • Knowing how to find and use political cartoons in the classroom, tied to the UFR curriculum
  • With access to a set of lessons on fiscal policy, professional development videos and lesson interactives.

Full Day Teacher Workshop. Lunch provided. Participants in this full-day workshop will receive a $75 dollar honorarium.
