Common Sense Economics Workshop

The Massachusetts Council on Economic Education is collaborating with the Stavros Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise and Economic Education at Florida State University to provide this engaging and informative workshop on August 17th from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm at Loomis Sayles (1 Financial Center, Boston, MA).

Dr. Joseph Calhoun, Assistant Director at the Stavros Center at Florida State University and Professor Carol Sweeney of Florida Gulf Coast University will be facilitating this one day workshop to introduce the Common Sense Education suite of resources. Throughout the day teachers will learn about Key Elements of the Economic Way of Thinking; Key Factors for Growth and Prosperity; Economics and the Role of Government; and Personal Finance.

Continental breakfast and lunch are included. Wireless Internet will be available, and if possible, participants should bring their own laptops. At the completion of the workshop, all participants will receive a free copy of the latest edition of  the Common Sense Economics  textbook and  free access to supporting materials, including multi-media enhancements. All participants will receive a letter after the workshop that documents their hours of attendance at this one-day Common Sense Economics teacher training program.
