The successful candidate for this position will be passionate, energetic, and an experienced Computer Science teacher who will instruct the AP Computer Science A course. Other courses that may be assigned include Exploring Computer Science, Java, Python, and Web Design. This teacher will be one of two computer science teachers in a collaborative department sharing in the development of the Computer Science program. The Westborough High School community believes in a rigorous educational experience in a supportive environment that fosters respect and engagement in our diverse and global society.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License, Computer Science preferred
- AP Computer Science A background
- Prior experience teaching high school Computer Science courses preferred
- Demonstrated interest, commitment and ability to work with students of varied academic strengths and interests
- Experience developing new curriculum to define the future direction of the department
- Willingness to investigate new programming languages and Computer Science topics
- Willingness to adapt existing curriculum to provide rigorous, motivating and relevant instruction to a broad range of students
