Best Practices and Innovations in CTE

Thank you for your interest in submitting a session proposal to present at the 2020 Best Practices and Innovations in Career and Technical Education conference. The annual conference co-hosted by the NCLA and the Administration Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education® (ACTE®) is specifically focused on the professional development for administrators of both secondary and post-secondary career and technical education programs and institutions. The conference will be held October 7-9, 2020 in Falmouth, MA.

This year the following content areas have been identified as the focus for strengthening the field of veteran and new CTE administrators of both secondary and postsecondary programs. Each submission must indicate which content area are the proposed presentation addresses.

  • Access and Equity
  • Post-Secondary CTE initiatives/innovative programs/collaboration with secondary programs
  • Attracting and retaining high quality CTE instructors
  • Lead-in technology-emerging use of technology and transferability of knowledge
  • Use of data for program review, improvement and accountability
  • Social and emotional health-students and instructors
  • Innovative approaches to school safety and security
  • Work based learning and industry credentials

This is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your successful programs and to share your expertise with colleagues. A best practice is a practice that has empirical data documenting the best practice. An innovation is defined as a teacher, school and/or administrative practice that demonstrates unique approaches in career and technical education, but has not yet been validated through empirical data.
